Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 pound ground beef sausage
  • 4 ½ cups milk
  • ½ cup flour
  • 3 tablespoons butter
  • 2 (7.5 ounce) cans refrigerated biscuits

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and spray a 13 x 9 inch glass baking pan with cooking spray.
  2. In a medium-sized pot, brown the ground beef sausage over medium heat until fully cooked. Transfer the sausage to the prepared baking dish, blotting excess grease with a paper towel.
  3. In the same pot, melt butter in the remaining drippings. Whisk in flour, salt, black pepper, and cayenne pepper to form a roux; cook for 2-3 minutes until lightly browned.
  4. Gradually add milk while whisking continuously until smooth. Cook on medium-low heat until gravy thickens.
  5. Cut refrigerated biscuits into quarters (or prepare homemade biscuit dough) and layer over the gravy in the baking pan.
  6. Bake for 25-30 minutes or until biscuits are golden brown. Serve warm.
