  • 1 cup breadcrumbs
  • 1 egg
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1 teaspoon smoked paprika
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • ¼ teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 cup BBQ sauce
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 4 sub rolls
  • 8 slices crispy turkey bacon

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. In a mixing bowl, combine ground beef, breadcrumbs, egg, garlic powder, onion powder, smoked paprika, salt, and black pepper. Mix gently.
  3. Form mixture into meatballs (about 1.5 inches in diameter).
  4. Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium heat. Brown meatballs on all sides for about 5-7 minutes.
  5. Pour BBQ sauce over the meatballs and simmer on low for about 10 minutes.
  6. Slice sub rolls lengthwise and toast in the oven for about 5 minutes.
  7. Assemble by placing meatballs in the toasted rolls, adding extra sauce if desired, then top with cheese and turkey bacon.
  8. For extra melty cheese, return subs to the oven for an additional 2-3 minutes.
