  • 3 tablespoons canola oil
  • 3 cups flour
  • 2 tablespoons melted butter
  • ½ teaspoon garlic salt
  • 1 tablespoon grated parmesan cheese
  • Marinara sauce (for serving)

Instructions

  1. In a mixing bowl, combine warm water, yeast, and sugar. Let it sit until foamy.
  2. Add salt, canola oil, and 2 cups of flour. Mix well.
  3. Gradually incorporate remaining flour until a soft dough forms.
  4. Knead the dough until smooth; let rise in a greased bowl for about 1 hour.
  5. Divide the dough into 16 pieces and shape each into a 12-inch rope with slits cut on either side.
  6. Form bone shapes by twisting the ends of each slit in opposite directions.
  7. Allow the shaped breadsticks to rise for another 45 minutes on a greased baking sheet.
  8. Preheat oven to 425°F and bake for 12-14 minutes until golden brown.
  9. Brush with melted butter and sprinkle with garlic salt and parmesan cheese before serving warm with marinara sauce.
