- 1 cup granulated sugar (200 grams)
- 1 cup butter (226 grams)
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 cup water (60 ml)
- 1 teaspoon vanilla
- Chocolate chips for topping
- Additional chopped pecans for garnish
Instructions
- Prepare a baking sheet by lining it with parchment paper.
- In a heavy-bottomed saucepan, combine butter, sugar, water, and salt. Stir over medium heat until melted.
- Cook while stirring frequently until the mixture reaches 300°F (hard crack stage), about 10–15 minutes.
- Remove from heat, stir in vanilla and chopped nuts until well combined.
