Ingredients

Scale
  • 4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts

  • 1 cup sharp cheddar cheese, shredded
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 tablespoon Dijon mustard
  • 1/2 cup flour
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil or melted butter
  • 1 cup milk (whole or 2%)
  • Salt & pepper to taste
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon smoked paprika
  • Fresh parsley, chopped
  • Extra crushed pretzels for texture

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. Pound chicken breasts to an even thickness and season with salt and pepper.
  3. Set up three bowls: one with flour, one with beaten eggs mixed with Dijon mustard, and one with crushed pretzels blended with garlic powder and smoked paprika.
  4. Dredge each chicken breast in flour, dip in the egg mixture, then coat with the pretzel mixture.
  5. Place on the prepared baking sheet, brush lightly with olive oil or melted butter, and bake for 20–25 minutes, flipping halfway.
  6. For extra crispiness, sear in a frying pan over medium heat for 5–6 minutes per side.
