Ingredients
- 4 medium yellow onions
- ½ pound ground beef
- 1 cup Gruyere cheese (shredded)
- 2 tablespoons unsalted butter
- 3 tablespoons olive oil
- 1 ½ teaspoons chicken hamburger seasoning
- ½ teaspoon garlic powder
- ¼ teaspoon black pepper
- 1 teaspoon kosher salt
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
- Peel and hollow out the onions, leaving about half an inch on all sides.
- In a skillet, melt butter with 1 tablespoon olive oil. Place hollowed onions cut side down and cook until lightly browned (about 5 minutes). Flip and sprinkle with kosher salt; cook for another 5 minutes.
- In a mixing bowl, combine ground beef, chicken hamburger seasoning, garlic powder, black pepper, and Worcestershire sauce until well mixed.
- Stuff each onion with the beef mixture tightly and place them in a baking dish cut side up. Drizzle with remaining olive oil and cover with foil.
