  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 egg

  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon kosher salt
  • 1/3 cup strawberry jam
  • 2 ounces cream cheese
  • 2 cups powdered sugar
  • 1/4 cup hot milk

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. Blend freeze-dried strawberries into a fine powder using a blender.
  3. In a mixing bowl, cream together butter, sugar, and vanilla until fluffy. Beat in the egg.
  4. Gradually add flour, baking soda, part of the strawberry powder, and salt; mix until combined. Stir in strawberry jam.
  5. Roll dough into one-inch balls and place on the prepared baking sheet.
  6. Bake for about 8 minutes; tap the sheet gently before returning to bake for another 2-3 minutes until golden.
  7. For icing, combine cream cheese, powdered sugar, hot milk, vanilla extract, and remaining strawberry powder until smooth.
  8. Ice cooled cookies by dipping or drizzling.
