- 4 pieces uncooked turkey bacon, diced
- 1 small white onion, finely diced
- 1 jalapeno, diced
- 4 garlic cloves, minced
- 1 (12-ounce) bottle dark beef broth
- 4 cans pinto beans, rinsed and drained
- 1 tablespoon brown sugar
- 1 teaspoon dried oregano
- 1 teaspoon chili powder
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon cumin
- 1 tablespoon fresh lime juice
- 1/4 cup chopped fresh cilantro
Instructions
- In a large sauté pan over medium-high heat, cook turkey bacon until crispy. Remove and set aside.
- In the same pan, sauté onion and jalapeno until soft; add garlic and cook until fragrant.
- Add broth, pinto beans, brown sugar, and spices to the pan; stir well.
- Simmer uncovered for about 15 minutes on medium-low heat.
- Stir in cooked turkey bacon and fresh lime juice just before serving. Garnish with cilantro.
