  • 1/4 cup water
  • 14 oz can sweetened condensed milk
  • 12 oz can evaporated milk
  • 1 3/4 cups heavy whipping cream
  • 1 1/2 Tbsp vanilla extract
  • 5 large eggs (room temperature)
  • 1/4 tsp fine sea salt

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F and prepare a kettle of boiling water.
  2. In a saucepan, combine sugar and water for the caramel; boil until golden brown, then pour into a non-stick cake pan.
  3. Blend condensed milk, evaporated milk, heavy cream, vanilla extract, eggs, and salt until smooth; strain into the caramel-lined pan.
  4. Cover with foil and place in a roasting pan; add hot water until halfway up the sides of the cake pan.
  5. Bake for 70-80 minutes until slightly jiggly in the center; cool to room temperature, then refrigerate for at least six hours before serving.
