Ingredients
- 1 lb large shrimp, peeled & deveined
- 2 tablespoons soy sauce
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 2 teaspoons cornstarch
- 1/4 cup honey
- 3 tablespoons soy sauce
- 3 garlic cloves, minced
- 1 teaspoon fresh ginger, grated (optional)
- 1 tablespoon rice vinegar, or lemon juice
- 1/2 teaspoon red pepper flakes, optional (for heat)
- 3 cups cooked white or jasmine rice
- 2 green onions, chopped
- Sesame seeds, for garnish
Instructions
- In a mixing bowl, toss shrimp with soy sauce, olive oil, and cornstarch until well-coated. Set aside.
- In another bowl, whisk together honey, soy sauce, minced garlic, ginger (if using), rice vinegar (or lemon juice), and red pepper flakes.
- Heat a skillet over medium-high heat and cook marinated shrimp for about 1–2 minutes per side until pink. Remove from skillet.
- Pour the prepared sauce into the skillet and simmer for 2–3 minutes until slightly thickened.
- Return shrimp to the skillet and toss gently to coat in the sauce.
- Serve over warm rice and garnish with chopped green onions and sesame seeds.
