  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 28 oz crushed tomatoes
  • 12 lasagna noodles
  • 16 oz ricotta cheese
  • 1 egg
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 3 cups mozzarella cheese, shredded
  • 3/4 cup Parmesan cheese, grated
  • 2 tbsp sugar
  • 2 tsp dried basil
  • 1/2 tsp fennel seeds
  • 1 tsp Italian seasoning
  • 1/4 tsp black pepper
  • 1/4 cup fresh parsley, chopped
  • 1/2 cup water

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. In a large skillet over medium heat, brown the ground beef with chopped onion and minced garlic until cooked through. Drain excess fat.
  3. Stir in crushed tomatoes and seasonings; simmer for 30 minutes.
  4. Cook lasagna noodles according to package directions; drain.
  5. In a bowl, mix ricotta with egg and salt until smooth.
  6. In a baking dish, layer meat sauce, noodles, ricotta mixture, mozzarella, and Parmesan cheese; repeat layers.
  7. Cover with foil and bake for 25 minutes; remove foil and bake an additional 25 minutes until bubbly.
  8. Let it rest for 15 minutes before serving.
