  • 2 medium apples, peeled, cored, diced
  • ⅓ cup brown sugar
  • 1 tsp ground cinnamon
  • ¼ tsp ground nutmeg
  • ¼ tsp allspice
  • ¼ tsp ground ginger
  • 1 tbsp unsalted butter
  • 1 package premade pie dough
  • 1 beaten egg (for egg wash)
  • Additional coarse brown sugar (for topping)

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. In a mixing bowl, combine diced apples, brown sugar, cinnamon, nutmeg, allspice, ginger, butter, and cornstarch slurry. Mix well.
  3. Roll out the pie dough on a floured surface and cut circles to fit your muffin tin.
  4. Place dough circles into greased muffin cups and fill each with apple mixture.
  5. Top with another dough circle and crimp edges to seal.
  6. Brush tops with beaten egg and sprinkle with coarse brown sugar.
  7. Bake for about 25 minutes until golden brown; cool slightly before serving.
