  • 1 lb fresh strawberries (hulled and sliced)
  • 1 lb fresh blueberries
  • 1/4 cup water
  • 2 Tbsp sugar
  • 2 Tbsp lemon juice
  • 2 packages (8 oz each) cream cheese, softened
  • 3/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 cups heavy whipping cream
  • 1/2 tsp vanilla extract

Instructions

  1. Prepare the fruit by combining water, sugar, and lemon juice in a small saucepan. Heat until dissolved, then cool.
  2. Toss sliced strawberries with half of the syrup; set aside.
  3. Beat cream cheese with remaining syrup until smooth. Gradually mix in granulated sugar.
  4. Whip heavy cream with vanilla extract until stiff peaks form; gently fold into the cream cheese mixture.
  5. Assemble your trifle by layering half of the angel food cake cubes, half of the whipped cream mixture, half of the strawberries, and half of the blueberries in a trifle dish. Repeat layers and top with whipped cream if desired.
