  • ½ teaspoon black pepper

  • 2 cups shredded sharp cheddar cheese
  • ½ cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 2 tablespoons unsalted butter

Instructions

  1. Heat the olive oil in a large pot or deep skillet over medium heat. Add the sliced turkey sausage and cook for 4-5 minutes, stirring occasionally, until lightly browned. Remove the sausage from the pot and set aside.
  2. In the same pot, add the minced garlic. Sauté for about 30 seconds until fragrant.
  3. Add the elbow macaroni, chicken broth, whole milk, smoked paprika, black pepper, and salt to the pot. Stir to combine and bring to a gentle boil. Reduce heat to medium-low, cover, and simmer for about 8-10 minutes, stirring occasionally until the pasta is tender and most of the liquid is absorbed.
  4. Once the pasta is cooked, reduce heat to low. Stir in the cheddar cheese, mozzarella cheese, and unsalted butter until fully melted and creamy.
  5. Return the browned turkey sausage to the pot. Stir to combine and heat for an additional 1-2 minutes until warmed through.
