  • 2 Tablespoons warm milk
  • 1 teaspoon espresso powder
  • 4 ounces semi-sweet chocolate, finely chopped

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (177°C) and line baking sheets with parchment paper.
  2. In a large bowl, cream together the softened butter and sugar until smooth. Add the egg and vanilla, mixing well.
  3. Gradually incorporate flour, cocoa powder, and salt until combined.
  4. Warm the milk and dissolve espresso powder in it; add this mixture to the dough and mix until creamy.
  5. Transfer the dough to a piping bag fitted with a large tip and pipe desired shapes onto prepared baking sheets, spacing them about 3 inches apart.
  6. Chill piped cookies in the refrigerator for 20–30 minutes before baking for optimal shape retention.
