  • 2 cups beef broth
  • 1 small yellow onion, diced
  • 3 garlic cloves, minced
  • 3 tbsp cornstarch (for thickening)
  • 1 tsp brown sugar
  • ½ tsp each: salt, garlic powder, onion powder, chili powder, paprika
  • ¼ tsp black pepper
  • 1 beef bouillon cube
  • ¼ tsp each: dried thyme, rosemary

Instructions

  1. Season the cubed sirloin tips with salt, garlic powder, onion powder, chili powder, paprika, brown sugar, and black pepper. Coat evenly with flour.
  2. In a large skillet over medium heat, add olive oil. Brown the seasoned beef on all sides until golden. Remove from the skillet.
  3. In the same skillet, melt butter over medium heat. Sauté diced onion and minced garlic until fragrant.
  4. Pour in beef broth along with the bouillon cube. Stir in dried thyme and rosemary; bring to a simmer.
  5. Return the browned sirloin tips to the skillet. Cover and simmer for about 20–25 minutes until tender.
  6. Whisk together cornstarch with cold water to create a slurry; stir into the gravy until thickened.
