- 1 pound ground beef (or vegetarian crumbles)
- 4–6 cups tortilla chips
- 4 cups shredded lettuce
- 2 cups cherry tomatoes
- 1/2 cup pitted large olives (sliced lengthwise)
- 2 cups shredded cheddar cheese
- 3/4 cup water
- 1/4 cup salsa
- 1 envelope taco seasoning
Instructions
- In a large skillet, cook ground beef over medium heat until browned. Drain excess grease.
- Stir in water, salsa, and taco seasoning. Simmer uncovered for about 10 minutes.
- Layer tortilla chips in a 13-in. x 9-in. dish and spread the beef mixture on top.
- Add shredded lettuce as the next layer.
- Decorate with olive slices in the upper left corner for stars and alternate cherry tomatoes and cheese for stripes.
- Serve immediately or keep chips separate until serving for optimal crunch.
