  • 2 29 oz canned peaches in heavy syrup (Only use the peach juice from one can, not both.)
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar (Add more or less depending on your taste)
  • 5 tbsp melted unsalted butter
  • 2 1/2 tsp lemon juice
  • 2 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1/8 tsp salt
  • 2 cups flour
  • 2 tsp baking powder
  • 1 1/2 cup granulated sugar (for topping)
  • 1 pinch nutmeg (small pinch)
  • 1 tsp cinnamon
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1 cup melted unsalted butter (for drizzling)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).
  2. In a 9×13 baking pan, mix one can of peaches with its juice and the drained second can of peaches.
  3. Add melted butter, lemon juice, sugar, and vanilla; stir well to combine.
  4. In a separate bowl, mix flour, baking powder, sugar, nutmeg, cinnamon, and salt. Pour over the peach mixture.
  5. Smooth out the flour topping and drizzle evenly with melted butter.
  6. Bake for 15 minutes at 400°F then reduce heat to 375°F and continue baking for about an hour or until golden brown.
