  • 45 apples (cored and sliced)
  • 3 tablespoons granulated sugar (for filling)
  • 2 teaspoons ground cinnamon
  • Apricot jam (for glazing)
  • 3 tablespoons granulated sugar (for pastry)
  • 23 tablespoons cold water (as needed)
  • 1 tablespoon all-purpose flour (or gluten-free flour)

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9-inch loose-bottom tart pan.
  2. In a bowl, mix flour and sugar, then add chilled vegan butter until crumbly. Gradually add cold water until dough forms. Chill for 15 minutes.
  3. Prepare apple slices by tossing them with sugar, cinnamon, and flour in another bowl.
  4. Roll out the pastry dough to fit the tart pan, place in pan, and evenly distribute apple mixture on top.
  5. Drizzle melted vegan butter over apples and bake for approximately 70 minutes until golden brown.
