Ingredients
- 2 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 1/2 cups cake flour
- 2 tsp. cornstarch
- 1 tsp. baking soda
- 1 tsp. baking powder
- 1 tsp. salt
- 1 cup cold, unsalted butter, cubed
- 1 cup brown sugar, packed (dark or light)
- 1/2 cup granulated sugar
- 2 large eggs
- 2 large egg yolks
- 2 tsp. vanilla extract
- 3 cups milk chocolate chips (or less if desired)
- Red gel food coloring
- Blue gel food coloring
- Edible glitter stars
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C) and line baking sheets with parchment paper.
- In a bowl, whisk together all-purpose flour, cake flour, cornstarch, baking soda, baking powder, and salt.
- Cream together the cubed butter and both sugars in a stand mixer until smooth. Add eggs and vanilla; mix until combined.
- Gradually incorporate the dry ingredients into the wet mixture. Fold in the chocolate chips.
- Divide dough into three portions: color one red, one blue, and leave one plain. Roll each section into logs and combine them tightly.
- Slice the log into cookie-sized pieces, roll into balls, and place on prepared sheets.
- Bake for about 10 minutes until edges are lightly golden. Let cool before decorating with edible glitter stars.
