  • 1 cup apple butter
  • 1/2 cup light brown sugar (packed)
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 tablespoon ground cinnamon
  • 3/4 cup cream cheese
  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • 2 tablespoons maple syrup
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • pinch salt

Instructions

  1. Activate the yeast by mixing it with warm milk and sugar; let sit until bubbly.
  2. Whisk in remaining milk, eggs, and melted butter. Combine flour and salt in a bowl, then add the yeast mixture and knead until smooth.
  3. Allow dough to rise in a greased bowl until doubled in size (45–60 minutes).
  4. Roll out the dough into a rectangle, spread apple butter over it, then sprinkle sugars and cinnamon.
  5. Roll up tightly, slice into rounds, and place in a greased baking pan to rise again (20–30 minutes).
  6. Preheat oven to 350°F and bake for 18–25 minutes until golden brown.
  7. While warm, spread with frosting made from cream cheese, powdered sugar, maple syrup, and cinnamon.
