  • 1 cup Water
  • 1 cup Heavy Cream
  • 8 ounces Semisweet or Bittersweet Chocolate
  • 2 teaspoons Vanilla Extract
  • 4 ounces Unsweetened Chocolate
  • 1 cup Unsalted Butter
  • 4 cups Confectioners Sugar
  • 2 teaspoons Vanilla Extract

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease two 9-inch round cake pans.
  2. In one bowl, mix flour, cocoa powder, baking powder, baking soda, and salt. In another bowl, cream together sugar and butter until fluffy; add eggs and buttermilk.
  3. Combine both mixtures gradually while alternating with hot coffee until smooth.
  4. Divide batter between pans and bake for 30–35 minutes until a toothpick comes out clean. Cool completely.
  5. Prepare pudding filling by cooking sugar, cornstarch, salt, and water until thickened; stir in cream and melted chocolate.
