  • 1 cup sour cream
  • 1 1/4 cups unsalted butter, for frosting
  • 5 cups powdered sugar
  • 1/4 cup maraschino cherry juice

Instructions

  2. In a bowl, combine flour, baking soda, baking powder, and salt. Set aside.
  3. In a large bowl, beat eggs and sugar with a mixer until creamy. Mix in softened butter and almond extract.
  4. Gradually add dry ingredients to the wet mixture until just combined.
  5. Stir in sour cream until smooth.
  6. Divide batter between prepared pans and bake for 23–25 minutes until a toothpick comes out clean.
