Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 box (15oz) white cake mix (or vanilla)
  • 3/4 cup milk
  • 1/3 cup vegetable oil
  • 1/2 cup maraschino cherry juice
  • 3 large egg whites
  • 1 teaspoon pure almond extract
  • 1 1/4 cups mini chocolate chips
  • 1 can (14 ounces) sweetened condensed milk
  • 1 container (8 ounces) whipped topping

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9×13 inch baking pan.
  2. In a mixing bowl, combine cake mix, milk, vegetable oil, cherry juice, egg whites, and almond extract. Beat until smooth. Gently fold in mini chocolate chips.
  3. Pour batter into the prepared pan and bake for about 22 minutes or until a toothpick inserted comes out clean. Allow cooling completely.
  4. Poke holes evenly across the cooled cake using a skewer or fork, then pour sweetened condensed milk over the top so it seeps into the holes.
  5. Chill in the refrigerator for at least an hour before topping with whipped cream and drizzling with hot fudge sauce.
