Ingredients

Scale
  • 4 russet potatoes, cut into ¼-inch-thick matchsticks
  • 2 tablespoons extra virgin olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon paprika or smoked paprika
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon cayenne pepper
  • Flaky sea salt
  • 1 pound ground chicken
  • 1 small shallot, finely chopped or grated
  • 1 clove garlic, minced or grated
  • 2 teaspoons dried oregano
  • 1 teaspoon smoked paprika
  • 1 teaspoon ground cumin
  • Kosher salt and black pepper
  • 4 fresh pitas or naan, warmed
  • Lettuce, herbs, and feta cheese, for serving
  • 1 large avocado, halved
  • 1/4 cup plain Greek yogurt
  • 1/2 cup fresh basil
  • 1 jalapeño, seeded if desired
  • Juice of 1 lemon

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 425°F.
  2. Toss cut russet potatoes with olive oil and flaky sea salt on a baking sheet. Spread evenly and bake for 15-20 minutes; flip and bake an additional 15 minutes until crispy.
  3. In a mixing bowl, combine ground chicken, chopped shallot, minced garlic, oregano, smoked paprika, cumin, salt, and pepper. Form into tablespoon-sized meatballs and place on a parchment-lined baking sheet. Bake for about 15 minutes until cooked through.
  4. For the avocado sauce, blend avocado, Greek yogurt, fresh basil, jalapeño (if using), lemon juice, and salt until smooth.
  5. Serve by spreading avocado sauce on plates; add warmed pitas or naan, lettuce, feta cheese crumbles, seasoned fries, and baked chicken meatballs.
