  • ½ cup milk
  • ½ cup vegetable oil
  • ½ cup hot coffee
  • 2 cups shredded phyllo dough (kataifi)
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 1 cup pistachio cream
  • 4 oz milk or semi-sweet chocolate bar
  • ½ cup heavy cream

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F and grease a baking pan.
  2. In a mixing bowl, whisk together the dry ingredients: flour, sugar, cocoa powder, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
  3. Add egg, vanilla extract, milk, and vegetable oil; whisk until combined. Stir in the hot coffee until smooth.
  4. Pour the batter into the pan and bake for about 25 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean.
  5. In a separate pan over medium heat, cook chopped kataifi with butter until golden brown. Mix with pistachio cream.
  6. For the chocolate layer, microwave chopped chocolate with heavy cream until warm; stir until smooth.
  7. Once cooled, spread the pistachio mixture on the cake and drizzle with chocolate sauce.
