  • 1/4 cup brown sugar (for topping)
  • Whole pecan halves (for topping)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Grease a muffin tin or line it with paper liners.
  3. In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, baking powder, salt, and cinnamon.
  4. In another bowl, mix melted butter and brown sugar; add eggs one at a time, beating well after each addition. Stir in sour cream, milk, and vanilla until smooth.
  5. Gradually add dry ingredients to wet ingredients; stir until just combined. Fold in chopped pecans gently.
  6. Spoon batter into muffin cups about two-thirds full; top with whole pecan halves and sprinkle brown sugar.
  7. Bake for 20–22 minutes until golden brown; check doneness with a toothpick.
  8. Cool in the pan for five minutes before transferring to a wire rack.
